ATHENS ACADEMY (1281 Spartan Lane) "Steffen Thomas: A Retrospective" has over 50 pieces by the German-American expressionist. Through May.

ATHENS INSTITUTE FOR CONTEMPORARY ART (ATHICA) (160 Tracy St.) The 2nd annual ATHICA Mystery Triennial contains 100 5"x7" works hung anonymously. The identity of each artist is revealed only when the piece is purchased. Through June 15.

FARMINGTON DEPOT GALLERY (1011 Salem Rd., Farmington) Owned and staffed by 14 artists, the gallery exhibits paintings, sculpture, folk art, ceramics and fine furniture. LYNDON HOUSE ARTS CENTER (293 Hoyt St.) "Paper Covers Rock," held in partnership with Art Rocks Athens, is an exhibition of graphic and fine arts like posters, flyers and album covers. Opening reception May 25. Through July 26.

MADISON MORGAN CULTURAL CENTER (434 S. Main St., Madison) "Three Paths" exhibits works by Don Cooper that were influenced by his studies, observations and experimentations while traveling through Asia. Through Aug. 17.
