CIRCLE GALLERY (UGA College of Environment and Design, 285 S. Jackson St.) “Snapshots: 50 Years at the College of Environment and Design” celebrates the school’s 50th anniversary with a timeline, wall of curiosities in the tradition of wonder rooms, and a rotating exhibit. 

CITY OF WATKINSVILLE (Downtown Watkinsville) “Public Art Watkinsville: A Pop-up Sculpture Exhibit” consists of sculptures placed in prominent locations around downtown. Artists include Benjamin Lock, William Massey, Stan Mullins, Robert Clements, Harold Rittenberry and Joni Younkins-Herzog. • “Artscape Oconee: The Monuments of Artland” features a total of 20 paintings on panels installed around town. Artists include Claire Clements, Peter Loose, Andy Cherewick, Lisa Freeman, Manda McKay and others.

CLASSIC CENTER (300 N. Thomas St.) “Good Vibrations” features photographs of cruise life by Brittainy Lauback, drawings of beaches by Warren Slater that are influenced by Aboriginal mark-making, and vivid abstractions by Hannah Betzel. • “Building Facades” is a solo exhibition by Mike Landers that features sophisticated, symmetrical and minimally composed photographs from downtown Athens in the late 1990s and early 2000s. 

CREATURE COMFORTS BREWING CO. (271 W. Hancock Ave.) “Creatures of the Night” by Eli Saragoussi is an installation of shadow creatures. Through Nov. 4.

DONDEROS’ KITCHEN (590 N. Milledge Ave.) “Brain Stroke? Brush Stroke! Drawings, Paintings and Photography as Physical Therapy” demonstrates how Babs McDonald, after experiencing an ischemic stroke affecting her dominant side, began using art to train her hand. Through October.

Through Nov. 16. •  “Kiki Kogelnik, Julia Scher, Erika Vogt, Lisa Williamson” is a group show that examines technology in relation to the human body, performance and formal representations of the female figure. • In “Codified Color,” Dodd graduate students Mary Gordon, Christina Foard and Nick Abrami employ color as a means to examine personal histories. • “Baci from Cortona” celebrates 50 years of UGA in Cortona through photographs sharing memories. In “Immortal Beloved,” Dodd MFA candidate Robby Toles challenges authenticity as the artist’s image takes precedence over place.
