Photographer Jason Thrasher has already had a lot of success with his "Athens Potluck" project. He's exhibited at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and opened at the Georgia Theatre. It seems everyone in town has heard of his series of local-music photos, the central conceit of which is that each person photographed suggested the next subject, and on and on.

Now, thanks to his partnering with Athens book folks Deeds Publishing, it'll hopefully see hardback form.

There's a new fundraising effort afoot to launch the book, described as a "stream-of-consciousness journey through the music scene of Athens, GA," and its monetary goal is $30,000. No, that's not a small amount, and neither is book publishing—especially a book packed with huge, full-color photography—inexpensive. If fans want to see this happen, they're gonna have to work for it.

While any amount is accepted, donors begin receiving premiums at the $10 level (one full-color postcard), and there are demarcated levels all the way up to $10,000 (20 autographed books, party at your house and more). The suggested level is $60, for which you'll receive a signed book and three postcards. These levels, and their respective premiums, suggest the book will retail for between $50–$60.

Athens Potluck is expected to be published in October. Please see the Indiegogo page to donate and visit deedspublishing.com for more information on the publisher.
