Buvez, Bain Mattox and Amanda Kapousouz's Euro-style cafe on Barber Street, in the former 1000 Faces space, had a soft opening this past weekend and is now open regular hours (approximately 7:30 a.m.–10 p.m.). Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, fancy sodas and pastries from The Comerian are available in the a.m., and sandwiches on baguettes take over a bit later. You can also get soft pretzels, bulk snacks, hard-boiled eggs, beer, wine, aperitivos (and cocktails based on such),  sno-balls (boozy and nonalcoholic).

The Falls Restaurant, in the same shopping center as the new Mama's Boy, on Macon Highway, also began serving last week, with a bar that opens at 2 p.m. and dinner from 5–10 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Young executive chef Ryker Scott is running the kitchen. Bar snacks include empanadas, crab cakes, meatballs and a fancy chef burger. Dinner brings housemade pasta, seafood, steaks, $8 sides and a tableside pina colada ice cream made with liquid nitrogen.

Less ambitious but also open is WNB Factory, on Williams Street, in the former Blind Pig. The W stands for "wings" and the B for "burgers," both things this chain out of Atlanta offers, as well as fried rice, gyros, hot sandwiches, fried fish and shrimp, chicken fingers and salads.
