Piedmont College's Cafe on Prince, which has been serving up good Southern cooking, cafeteria style, for some time now, will close after today, as Pete reported in Pub Notes. The college intends to repurpose the space for academics, which is understandable, even if a loss to good fried chicken.

Piccolo's Italian Steakhouse, in Watkinsville, which opened in 2010, has been sold to a new owner and will close effective Monday, May 2. Tim Piccolo says he'll still do catering for those who will miss his food.

Barberitos will open a branch at Athens Tech this fall. The Athens-based burrito franchise is also adding lettuce wraps this summer.

And finally, after a brief closure for expansion, home.made on Baxter is open again and serving lunch on Saturdays and dinner five nights a week. The new hours are: Tuesday-Saturday, 11 a.m.–2 p.m., and then 5:30–9 p.m. (10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday). The dinner menu is heartier than the lunch one and can be seen here.
