Of all the things most likely to open in the former Choo Choo space on Epps Bridge, a gastropub was probably not on your mental list, but Catch 22 is set to do exactly that in the near future.
Chef Richard Miley, of Chops & Hops (which he's not leaving; this is an expansion of interests, not a transfer of attention), is the man behind the project. Its website remains underdeveloped at the moment (although props for having a placeholder), but the Facebook page is bustling with images of the renovation, news about hiring and teasers of the menu (pastrami with jalapeño pickles, beer mustard and smoked gouda; salted pretzel with wasabi honey mustard; street tacos; bacon fat popcorn with bourbon maple syrup; craft beers).
It all seems kind of an odd fit for the location, right across the street from Ryan's, but strip-mall spaces are exactly where interesting businesses can and should flourish.
