Broad Street Coffee, now known as Echo, didn't stay closed for long. The vegan restaurant is opening up in its new location, the former home of Farm 255 on W. Washington Street downtown, at 11 a.m. today. (Complete with doggie decor, per the restaurant's Facebook page.)

Fat & Happy BBQ, next door to Jimbo's at 699 Baxter and owned by Mark Day and Quinn Postero, is also open.

Bee's Knees bakery has moved across its shopping center on Epps Bridge Parkway into a slightly smaller space, next to Keba.

The former Hendershot's space, next to the westside Transmetropolitan, is getting a new tenant, as Transmet co-owner Brian Colantuno confirmed. Colantuno said it would be doing coffee and lunch but didn't give a name or opening date.

What was until recently Paine Insurance, on E. Washington, has been undergoing renovation into an arcade bar, according to the construction worker I flagged down.

In franchise news, Taqueria Tsunami will be opening a location in the new Epps Bridge development and Bojangles has submitted a special use permit request for a location at 3210 Lexington Road.
