Give back/Special
If you're a regular at Athens Farmers Market, you no doubt know Juan Villaveces and family, who retail sweet little tasty empanadas there regularly. Farm 255 is spreading the word that they experienced a house fire and have lost almost everything they own. If you want to donate "size 8 boys' clothes, size 40 men's pants and XL shirts, Christmas decor, kitchen appliances and cold, hard cash to help them get back on their feet" (Farm's words), you can leave them at Farm, at Farm Cart or with Jan Kozak at the Athens Farmers Market.
Pulaski Heights BBQ is expanding its hours, writing:
Starting on Tuesday, Dec. 11, we'll be open straight through between lunch and dinner, 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on the weekdays, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on the weekends. Still closed Monday lunch and dinner will open at 5 p.m.
The fledgling BBQ place also offers a great late-nite special with a BBQ sandwich and a beer (mostly High Life, but sometimes it runs out and you get lucky with an upgrade) for $5 from the time the kitchen closes at 10 p.m. until the bar shuts down later (11 p.m. on weekend nights).
