Phickles Pickles, long available in various locations throughout Athens (Heery's, Bell's, Southern Surplus), recently opened its own storefront on Baxter Street, across from Raising Cane's. The store sells not only Phickles products (now including a pimento cheese and a cheese spread called Hot Mess), but also other locally produced wares. It'll hold a holiday sale Dec. 2 from 10 a.m.–7 p.m., with discounts on pickles by the case and free samples.

This Sunday (Nov. 23, 6–9 p.m.) brings a "Community Feast" organized by Tailored Events and held at Kumquat Mae on Mitchell Bridge Road. Trae Stewart of Kumquat Mae, Matt Palmerlee (ex-The Branded Butcher) and Marla Getford (The Royal Peasant) are doing food, and Old Pal and 5 Points Bottle are teaming up on drinks. Tickets are $30 and available for purchase here.

Ken Manring of White Tiger and Peter Dale of The National are teaming up to benefit Meals on Wheels. This week, purchase $5 raffle tickets at either restaurant for a chance to win a dinner catered by both of them for you and 20 buddies. Winning ticket will be drawn Nov. 29 at Cine Lab.
