What's coming to the Iron Grill space?

I don't have much yet in the way of details, but a banner announcing that something called Los Coyotes will be coming soon has appeared on the side of the development on Mitchell Bridge Road that previously housed the Iron Grill and the westside branch of Harry Bissett's. The space is a huge one and hard to make money from, except in great volume, but Mexican doesn't seem like a bad idea.

If you haven't been paying attention to Find Frank: The Fabulous Fiction Fan, the scavenger hunt to promote local businesses organized out of Avid Bookshop, and you aren't much of a shopper, take comfort. As Rachel Watkins reminds us, 26 of the 51 locally owned businesses participating are bars, restaurants or coffee shops. The date of conclusion has been extended to Jan. 13, giving you plenty of time to sharpen your eyes in search of the little paper dude with a book for a head. Find him and let the folks working in that establishment know, and you get a little card. Collect 10 for a prize or 20 for a chance at an awesome gift basket full of Athens stuff. Here's the list of places with food and drink where you can find Frank: Barberitos (downtown, Eastside, Epps Bridge, Watkinsville), Clocked, The Daily Co-op, Donderos', Farm 255, Five & Ten, The Globe, The Grill, The Grit, Harry's Pig Shop, Heirloom, Ike & Jane, J's Liquor Shop, Jittery Joe's Roasting Co., Jittery Joe's (downtown, 5 Points, Eastside, Baxter Street), Mama's Boy, Manhattan Cafe, The National, Normal Bar and Ted's Most Best. Avid is having a party this Sunday at 3 p.m. to celebrate the artwork, created by local middle-schooler Kiran Fernandes and to preview the prizes.

Hugh Acheson's list of favorite Athens burgers, posted to the burger blog A Hamburger Today, has been going around the interwebs over the few days. He touts those at Farm 255, ADD Drug, White Tiger (my personal fave) and The Varsity. I prefer Krystal over the latter (even sober) and might add those at Big City Bread, Etienne Brasserie, The Globe, Heirloom, the Royal Peasant (especially the lamb burger) and Sr. Sol's delicious hamburguesa hawaiiana topped with pineapple and ham.
