After a brief hiatus—it closed downtown effective Nov. 25—Taste of India has completed its move to the Eastside, in the Ansonborough development on Gaines School Road, and is back open for dine-in for lunch (11 a.m.–2 p.m.) and dinner (5–10 p.m.) daily. Its popular lunch buffet, however, has been discontinued. The phone number is 706-850-6118 for the moment, but the restaurant hopes to get its old number back.

Malinda's Country Kitchen, which replaced Sonny's on Atlanta Highway, has closed, as have Chick-n-Fix (previously Chicken Express) and JB's Smokin' Pig, both in Watkinsville. The latter has been replaced by Winghouse Grill, which has another branch in Hull (reviewed previously here).

Siri Thai's original location in the Bottleworks has been bought by new owners and is now Blia's Thai Kitchen (doing lunch and dinner Wednesday through Monday), but the Siri folks continue to operate their other location on the Eastside.

According to plans review, the Mark complex on Oconee Street will be adding a branch of franchise I Heart Mac and Cheese (which also does grilled cheese sandwiches, O-House folks), on its Hickory Street side this spring.

The Five Points Waffle House will become not a parking deck (yet), but another branch of Watkinsville's Fully Loaded Pizza Kitchen. And Dougherty Street, inside the Uncommon development, is getting a location of Lumberjaxe, a bar—sorry, "private sporting facility that happens to let you drink beer if you choose to"—at which people throw axes, which sounds like a great idea.

Correction: A previous version of this post stated that Lumberjaxe was affililated with Axe Club of America, which it is not.
