Every Tuesday this summer, The Foundry (previously known as The Melting Point, which you probably still call it if you are an Athenian of long standing, habituated to referring to places by their previous names) is offering a pretty good deal for a date night.
Geared to adults instead of college kids, it starts at 5:30, runs until 9 p.m. and features a minimum of decisions, which can be very appealing when all you do all day is be a grown-up and decide things!
The Two of Us (with Kip Jones) is playing '70s acoustic jams, and $40 gets you an appetizer, two entrees, dessert and either four local beers (Terrapin, Southern Brewing Co., Creature Comforts) or a bottle of the house wine (white or red), tax and tip not included.
The menu changes, but a recent example included deviled eggs or "corn dawg lollipops" in the apps department; Cobb salad, steak trio or parmesan-crusted chicken for entrees; and chocolate-chocolate cheesecake for dessert. No reservations are required, and if you just want to see/hear the music, that part is free.
