Almost a year after the Prince Avenue Wendy's caught fire, lo, it has risen.
The new fast-food restaurant at the corner of Prince of Finley Street re-opened over the weekend. Like half the Flagpole staff ate lunch there today. #buylocal
It's nice. It has comfy booths and a flat-screen TV tuned to Fox Business News, if that's your kind of thing. (This particular Wendy's franchisee apparently doesn't do much research into customer demographics.)
The fire that destroyed the previous Wendy's was quite contentious in the townie community (Isn't everything?) with some celebrating the loss of a grimy monument to corporate capitalism, auto-centric culture, obesity and diabetes, and others calling those people elitist, and still others complaining about the pedestrian/cyclist kill box that is the new store's extra-wide driveway.
You know what, though? Spicy chicken sandwiches are delicious.
