Watch a New Video from The Ice Creams (Feat. Members of The Humms)
Here's a newly posted video from a group called The Ice Creams, for a little ditty titled "Everyone's Got a Skeleton." The band, which features Zeke Sayer and Matthew Garrison of local band The Humms as well as drummer Stephen Findley, plays a slightly more saccharine version of The Humms' earworm-y garage-punk, impossibly catchy and lean as white meat.

R.I.P. Jason Molina
Earlier today, Chunklet reported that Jason Molina, leader of dark-folk luminary Songs: Ohia and the more musically conservative but no less revelatory Magnolia Electric Co., passed away on Saturday, Mar. 16 due to organ failure.
Molina had been in poor health for several years, which Chunklet founder Henry Owings, a close friend of Molina's, revealed in a 2011 blog post was due to the singer's ongoing struggle with alcoholism. Despite a well-heeded call for support from friends and fans, and the release last year of Autumn Bird Songs, a set of tunes meant to accompany a book of William Schaff's artwork, Molina's addiction continued to rule his life.

SXSW: A Slight Return and Some Crystal Ballin'
The truth is that SXSW doesn’t slow down. It goes and goes and goes and stops. When it’s over you feel you’ve been tossed from a train. So with that in mind let me tell you about some things in order of importance.
I decided to not risk getting thrown out of Depeche Mode, so I left my camera behind. But then once I was inside I realized it would have been no problem at all. It was OK, though, because I gotta admit it was the best to stand chest-flush against a barricade in front of a three foot stage and a mere five feet or so from Depeche Mode. Am I making this clear enough? Depeche Mode.

–Nick Cave, "Push The Sky Away"Every year I’m out here at SXSW, this being the fourth, I have a new plan in my head of how to schedule reportage and updates. So basically, thank God for Twitter, because finding time to actually sit down and write anything is a goal lofted up there with saving the ice caps. That is, you can only do one thing at a time and there’s always a billion factors getting in your way.
