Ken Will Morton is hard at work on a new album with his new band, the Contenders (featuring Doug Blakeman and Louis Phillip Pelot). Slow Burn is set to be released in early 2013, but we've got a sneak preview.
"Lady Luck" is an energetic burner, a catchy, hard-rocking tune that showcases Morton's songwriting well. Morton explains of the track, which was recorded by engineer John Keane and mixed at Jim Hawkins' Studio 1093:
"Lady Luck. If you want her on your side you've got to keep her happy."
Ken Will Morton and the Contenders play this Friday, Nov. 23 at Roadhouse. Morton plays a solo acoustic show this Saturday, Nov. 24 at Farm 255.
