A drunk Jefferson teenager hit a bike rider on South Lumpkin Street early Monday morning, then fled, according to Athens-Clarke police.
A Mercury Sable driven by Jace McColskey, 17, jumped the curb near the Gran Ellen Drive intersection at about 7 a.m. Monday, hitting Jens Dressler, 47, of Jolly Lane. McColskey didn't stop, but he was spotted shortly after at Prince Avenue and King Avenue.
McColskey was charged with DUI, hit-and-run, reckless driving, lane violation and underage consumption.
Dressler was taken to the hospital.
Lumpkin Street is one of the most dangerous in Athens for cyclists, according to University of Georgia research.
