Welcome to Athens Power Rankings. In the spirit of sports rating systems, through painstaking analysis, we rank the top movers and shakers in the Classic City each week. Who's hot? Who's not? Find out below.

1. Cheeseburger

Maybe the best-known dog in Athens after the Georgia bulldog—owned by Johnny Veazey, a local homeless man who was his companion for 14 years—died last week, to the chagrin of many. Covenant Presbyterian Church has set up a memorial fund for Cheeseburger. Checks should be made out to Covenant with "Cheeseburger Memorial Fund" in the for line. For more information, email Karen Wetherington at [email protected].

2. Fluke

The annual comics-and-such sale is coming up this weekend, and we asked local artist Joey Weiser to draw us a cartoon about it. Check it out in Wednesday's Flagpole.

3. Owen Ogletree

The 20th annual Classic City Beer Fest is this Saturday, too. Read the upcoming Flagpole for more, and drink up!

4. Michael Farfour

FARM CART IS BACK GUYS!

5. UGA retirees

More than 800 of them attended meetings last Friday to hear the University System explain why they're changing their health insurance.
