Welcome to Athens Power Rankings. In the spirit of sports rating systems, through painstaking analysis, we rank the top movers and shakers in the Classic City each week. Who's hot? Who's not? Find out below.

1. The Classic Center

Not only did it host the Georgia Republican convention the weekend before last, on the following day, its new Sunday Market Center made its debut. The market is featured in tomorrow's edition of The Locavore.

2A. Harold Williams

2B. Carl Lindberg

Tributes are continuing to roll in as Athens comes to grips with losing these two beloved figures. Look for Pete to share more remembrances of his friend Harold in the next Pub Notes.

4. Taxi drivers

They've got some stories to tell—and one is telling all in this week's cover article.

5. Chickens

Rejoice! As of May 20, backyard chickens are officially legal!

Editor's note: Memorial Day should have been No. 1, since Flagpole took the day off. The Power Rankings will return to their regular Monday schedule next week. (We know y'all really missed it.)
