Welcome to Athens Power Rankings. In the spirit of sports rating systems, through painstaking analysis, we rank the top movers and shakers in the Classic City each week. Who's hot? Who's not? Find out below.

1. Kristin Hersh

On this week’s cover: Hersh, of Throwing Muses fame, will be in town next week to promote her new book about a close friend, the late Athens singer/songriter Vic Chesnutt.

2. Greyson Lambert

The Virginia transfer quieted fans’ calls for Bryce Ramsey by setting an NCAA record for highest completion percentage and a school record for most passes completed in a row in Georgia’s beatdown of South Carolina on Saturday.

3. Thayer Sarrano

The ethereal local singer played a rare rock show at Seney-Stovall Chapel last week, and she’s got a new record out, too. Read the review in the next issue of Flagpole.

4. Davis Property Group

The Greenville, SC, developer is planning a mixed-use development on the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church property.

5. David Clark

The director of the Athens-Clarke Transportation and Public Works Department has a plan to make local streets safer. Check out this week’s Flagpole for more.
