Donald J. Trump Jr. isn’t the only big name that will be at the Classic Center next Tuesday. Republican gubernatorial candidate Brian Kemp will be holding a rally with Trump Jr., according to an email the Kemp campaign sent to supporters on Thursday.
The rally is scheduled for 5–6 p.m Tuesday at the Classic Center. The announcement added that tickets would be $50 per person, and space is limited.
Kemp ran a Trump-like campaign in the GOP primary, brandishing shotguns and chainsaws as he railed against “criminal illegals” and called himself a “politically incorrect conservative.” Since winning the nomination largely on the strength of Trump’s endorsement, he’s been trying to soften his image for the general election race against Democrat Stacey Abrams.
Following the rally, Turning Point USA, a conservative college group, will host Campus Clash, where Trump Jr. and his girlfriend, former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle, will also be speaking. TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk and communication director Candace Owens are expected to talk about current political hot topics.
It is uncertain if Kemp will be in attendance at the Campus Clash event. TPUSA UGA Chapter President Erin Cooke told Flagpole in a previous interview that a “Georgia political candidate from Athens” may be in attendance, but they are waiting to announce until the campaign confirms he will be able to attend.
Doors will be open for free TPUSA Campus Clash at 6 p.m. The event will start at 6:30 p.m.
A previous version of this post stated Kemp would be in attendance at the TPUSA Campus Clash event. That has not been confirmed at this time.
