The board of directors for the independent student newspaper the Red & Black rehired Editor in Chief Polina Marinova and Managing Editor Julia Carpenter this evening, five days after student staffers walked out in response to proposed changes at the paper.
The board formally agreed to add students to the board and reiterated that students make final editorial decisions with guidance from professionals, while the students who quit apologized for walking out on deadline. They releases a joint statement after the board re-interviewed Carpenter and Marinova Monday afternoon.
