Former state Rep. Doug Collins, R-Gainesville, and former talk radio pundit Martha "Snoop Lion" Zoller are locked in a tight runoff in the 9th Congressional District. The mud is flying—Collins recently accused Zoller of wanting to legalize the marihuana. Check out Collins' latest ad:
OK, that's not really it. But Team Collins has set up an entire website devoted to dirt on Zoller culled from her writings and radio and television appearances. It includes this video:
"I think a lot of people are looking at (legalizing weed), thinking about it," she says. "I mean, we tax cigarettes and liquor."
Other Zoller statements Collins labels as "crazy" include "I do believe abortion is wrong, but it should not be outlawed," "I have no problem with commercial programs with homosexuals in the story lines," and "President Obama is a great guy."
Team Zoller has their own website to counteract Collins' attacks. "Despite increased apathy towards 'recreational drug use,' Martha Zoller is adamantly opposed to legalizing marijuana or reducing punishments for drug dealers," it says.
The runoff is Aug. 21.
