The Georgia legislature convenes today for its 2013 session. What kind of mischief will they get up to this year?
After feasting on barbecue last night, Athens' new state representatives, Democrat Spencer Frye and Republican Regina Quick, were sworn in this morning as the legislature gaveled in for this year's session. Walter Jones at Morris News Service notes how inexperienced our delegation is since Frye and Quick ousted Keith Heard and Doug McKillip, who had served 13 terms between them.
The Senate, responding to cries for ethics reform, incorporated a $100 lobbyist gift cap into its rules today, but don't expect much action this week.
