Heaven
Though its members sport some impressive résumés—The Big Sleep, Ambulance LTD, Swervedriver, The Comas—Brooklyn band Heaven isn't a household name just yet. All the more reason to see the group now, because the fresh release of its majestic debut LP, Telepathic Love, could very well change that soon. The creative core of Heaven coalesced after playing in Adam Franklin and the Bolts of Melody, a solo project from the Swervedriver frontman. Taking cues from the prettier, dope-cool side of the shoegaze coin, Heaven rides effects-driven bluster for all its textural worth, but never to the point of losing its melodic heart amidst the sonic corrosion. The result is gorgeous, paisley noise-pop in all its stoned stateliness.
