24 Hour-ish Film Festival

Wednesday, Apr. 23 @ Flicker Theatre & Bar

A still from last year's Judges Choice winner, Oedipus Crowned in Anger.

The 24 Hour-ish Film Festival, the now-annual event put on by local nonprofit Film Athens, wherein small teams are given a line of dialogue, a prop, a special requirement and 24 hours… ish (very ish; it's actually more like 42 hours, but hey, who's counting) to create a short film, happens Wednesday at Flicker. Teams began work on their movies Friday, Apr. 11 and turned in their completed works the following Sunday; each entry will screen Wednesday starting at 9 p.m., and cash prizes will be awarded to the Audience Choice and Judges' Choice winners. If last year's well-attended event was any indication, there are some frighteningly talented amateur filmmakers among us—and others that should probably not quit their day jobs. Either way, it's a blast. Sit back and enjoy.
