It's an unpredictable time of year, weather-wise, and the 2013 event was canceled, but let's hope the rain gods are kinder for this year's BRWA benefit show at Camp Kiwanis in Danielsville. Bring the family and a camping tent and dig music from Elf Power, Hot Fudge, The Darnell Boys, Shade, Madeline and more. In addition, enjoy disc golf, cornhole and other weird games, including a "plant identification showdown" and a trivia contest where the sole subject is William Bartram, the 18th Century American naturalist who once wrote of what would become Clarke County, "This new ceded country promises plenty and felicity." The event will be 100 percent staffed by volunteers, and all proceeds go to the Broad River Watershed Association, the nonprofit land trust that exists to protect and manage the river.
