Betty Jean Craige
Downstream tells the tale of a murder in Witherson, a fictional rural town in north Georgia. The novel is more than a simple whodunit—it also presents the case for protecting the environment in the face of human greed. Downstream is the first novel by Betty Jean Craige, a prolific academic writer who was a professor of comparative literature at UGA for 38 years, as well as director of the Willson Center for Humanities and Arts. Craige will be signing her book and giving a talk at the Barnes & Noble on Atlanta Highway on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 2–4 p.m.
