Along with Five Eight, local band Bloodkin stands as an improbable Athenian testament to the possibility of regional rock-and-roll longevity. That's no slight; aside from the sheer force of will it takes to keep a band going for 25 years, the group continues into the 21st Century, pumping out inspired original material. For their annual holiday show, they'll be joined by the legendary Col. Bruce Hampton, as well as Atlanta jazz pianist Johnny Knapp and a slew of other local luminaries. This year, the band joins with the Celebrate Wayne and Conquer SADS group, which raises awareness for Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome.
