After taking Athens by storm in 2014 with a cassette release of a WUOG performance, Pinecones slipped into the studio and churned out Sings For You Now, a pummeling, near-perfect rock and roll record that landed at No. 2 on Flagpole’s year-end list. Now, the album’s poised to find a much wider audience, thanks to local label Arrowhawk Records, which will release Sings For You Now on vinyl and digital Apr. 14. The record, with its unvarnished, Crazy Horse-meets-Dischord appeal, has already begun gathering steam via posts on various tastemaking blogs. Sunday’s show also features the return of former Athenian John McLean’s Todd Killings project, as well as Ohio’s Vacation and locals Mouth.
