As part of the inaugural National Independent Bookstore Day, Avid will join 350 bookstores across the country in celebrating brick and mortar bookshops. A full day of activities includes live music by Four Eyes and Franny, arts and crafts, face painting, scavenger hunts and a literary costume contest. Exclusive items include previously unpublished stories by Bad Feminist author Roxane Gay, signed artwork by Allie Brosh of “Hyperbole and a Half” and literary artwork by Margaret Atwood. Customers who spend over $30 will be entered into a raffle to win prizes donated by local businesses including Double Dutch Press, Model Citizen, Ciné, Atomic and reBlossom Mama & Baby Shop.
