While on tour with Radiohead, comedian and producer McQueen was struck with an idea far beyond the common barstool stand-up routine: a multimedia production that is equal parts comedy, music and video. McQueen mines through movies, TV shows, songs and news to remix the best pop culture gems into absurd new storylines that often parody celebrities. His live performances combine music and improvisational voiceovers with projected visuals and sketches, which are often narrated by a giant fox. After a sold-out two-week run in London, McQueen’s show in Athens is a stop on his “Ginger Corvette” U.S. tour.
