DJs YaTuSabes and D:RC
Thematically inspired by “El Taller de Gráfica Popular: Vida y Arte,” a tremendous exhibition of works by the Mexican printmaking collective, the museum’s thrice-yearly late-night art party Museum Mix will feature music curated by local DJs YaTuSabes and D:RC. Peruvian-American YaTuSabes blends elements of hip-hop, salsa, merengue, bachata and reggaeton into his playlists, and D:RC has been a mainstay of the electronic dance music scene since the mid-‘90s. All galleries will remain open until midnight, with additional temporary exhibitions including sociopolitical linocuts and woodcuts by California Bay Area activists Art Hazelwood and Ronnie Goodman, and paintings and puppets by Ralph Chessé. Guests are encouraged to share photos from the evening with the hashtag #museummix.
