Cicada Rhythm
[Editor's note: This event was originally scheduled for Oct. 10 but was postponed due to rain. A new date has not been announced yet.]
Last year, the North Georgia Folk Festival celebrated its 30th anniversary, and the party continues Saturday at Sandy Creek Park. In year 31, the Americana festival welcomes an ever-impressive group of regional performers of varying ages and string-music styles, including locals Cicada Rhythm, Caroline Aiken, The Hobohemians and The Folk Society Band, as well as octogenarian ballad singers Bonnie Loggins and Mary Lomax, longtime folk fest faves. This time around, in addition to the main stage, there will also be a “fire circle showcase” featuring singer-songwriters Adam Klein, Cortez Garza, Claire Campbell and Eliot Bronson. Plus, a kids’ activity area featuring storyteller Pat Shields.
