Alex Hodge
Close on the heels of last month’s Art Party Extravaganza, the Dodd Galleries have three new exhibitions opening within the school’s Orbit Spaces. In “Unsung Muses,” ceramics undergraduate student Alex Hodge presents hand-built pots referencing both ancient Greek vessels and contemporary feminist critique. “In Process,” a new series highlighting current research and projects by faculty members, launches with work by printmaking and book arts professor Eileen Wallace, who created relief prints using linoleum tiles taken from the now defunct amusement park Fun Mountain. Curated by MFA candidate Vivienne Varay, “Forms of Adornment: Flesh and the Erotic” explores themes of sexuality, gender and identity through the creations of nine artists from across the country who work primarily in jewelry and metals. All shows will remain on view through Thursday, Nov. 5.
