Unsilent Night

One of the coolest events of Athens’ holiday season, Unsilent Night is equal parts concert, parade, performance art and outdoor party. Conceived of by New York-based electronic composer Phil Kline in 1992, the event centers around an airy, sparkling musical piece “written specifically to be heard outdoors in the month of December.” Participants should download one of four tracks, available at unsilentnight.com, to their iPhone or other mp3 player beforehand. (If you’re old-school, you can bring a boombox; cassette tapes will be available.) Show up to Little Kings Shuffle Club at 7:30 p.m., where everyone will hit “play” simultaneously and march through downtown.
