Athens-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Matt Martin has been woodshedding music under the Wanderwild name for nearly three years, but he’s only now unveiling his first official collection of songs. The Fleeting EP, on which Martin played all instruments and which he will self-release this Friday, bears the marks of intense consideration, from the sunny, soaring rocker “Optimist” to the lovely acoustic number “Misty Morning.” Fleeting features a moody, melodic sound that fans of grayscale indie rockers like The National should thoroughly enjoy. Locals Wieuca and Son & Thief and Atlanta folkie Faye Webster share Friday’s Caledonia bill.
