The Sad & Beautiful World of Sparklehorse

Tuesday, Apr. 5 @ 40 Watt Club

Sparklehorse

Mark Linkous was plagued by many demons throughout his life—crippling depression, chronic drug abuse, partial paralysis—which led to his suicide at the age of 47. As Sparklehorse, Linkous also wrote and recorded some of the most gripping, gorgeous music in the indie rock canon. British filmmakers Alex Crowton and Bobby Dass explore that duality in their new documentary, which screens at the 40 Watt on Tuesday following its U.S. premiere at the Chattanooga Film Festival. The film features interviews with Linkous’ high-profile friends and fans, including Jason Lytle, David Lowery, Ed Harcourt, Adrian Utley and others. A Q&A with Crowton and Dass follows the screening.
