Will Eskridge
Whether it’s addressing habitat destruction, resource depletion or other environmental issues, Will Eskridge uses his artwork to advocate for the welfare of wildlife. His latest exhibition, “Deep Blue Waves,” dives into the mysterious depths of the ocean to explore its diverse and often misunderstood creatures. Primarily an oil painter who occasionally branches out into sculpture and installation, Eskridge created a series of large cyanotype solargrams for the show. Each animal’s silhouette, assembled from plant life, was made using natural sunlight. Appropriately, Eskridge’s surf band, Forbidden Waves, will perform at 8 p.m., followed by Cramps cover band The De Lux Interiors. “Deep Blue Waves” will remain on view through Saturday, Oct. 1.
Artist Will Eskridge presents his latest exhibition. Plus, live music from The De Lux Interiors and Forbidden Waves. See Calendar Pick on p. 14.
