TIME
Taking a cue from the music-festival innovation known as the “silent disco,” where concert-goers experience a DJ’s performance through wireless headphones rather than a traditional PA system, two-man enterprise Hush Hush will present similar shows at local venues. Wednesday’s installation features TIME, the new electro-psych project from former Prince Rama member Michael Collins, as well as locals L’Or and Half Acid and a Skype-based performance from Ginko. Hush Hush’s headphones also act as a lighting component, says organizer Scott Crossman, “with rainbow-colored illuminations emanating from everyone’s heads in sync with the music.” More cool stuff is in the works, so stay tuned.
TIME New psychedelic dance project from former Prince Rama member Michael Collins. See Calendar Pick on p. 24.
HALF ACID Greg O'Connell experiments with synths and talk boxes.
L'OR Opera-like dream sequences fused with ballet performance art.
GINKO Edgar Lopez's fuzzy, beat-driven experimental hip hop project. This is a special Skype performance.
