Artrageous

Combining live painting, music and choreography, Artrageous is a multi-sensory performance. A team of visual artists splash paint across the canvases, while musicians, actors and puppeteers perform songs or skits in the foreground. The troupe, which started out in the 1980s as a group of street performers on Granville Island in Vancouver, Canada, has since developed into a campus complete with a recording studio, offices and rehearsal spaces in the high desert mountains of New Mexico. Paying homage to a variety of artistic styles and musical genres throughout the performance, the show culminates in a set of paintings reflecting a rich cultural history.
