Marianne Parr
The Piney Woods Artisans Studio Open House showcases the latest collections of six artists. Gallery owner Dortha Jacobson paints scenes inspired by travel and the world around her, while Macon-based textile artist Wini McQueen makes narrative quilts addressing race, gender and class. Sculpture artist Harold Rittenberry welds tall works often filled with the silhouettes of stories, while Barbara Odil creates figures composed of natural materials like wood, shells and seed pods. Marianne Parr is a stained-glass artist who balances restoring antique pieces with creating contemporary works inspired by nature and geometry, and Kenneth Kase jewelry designs in brass and silver are adorned with colorful Czech glass beads.
