Offering a nice way to spend the holiday, “The Mother Show” celebrates the theme of motherhood through painting, photography, sculpture and more. Over 30 artists have contributed works, with the roster including Ruth Allen, Jamie Calkin, Peter Loose, Manda McKay, Rich Panico and Leonard Piha. Several of the participants are mothers themselves—Lisa Freeman, Vanessa Briscoe Hay, Lucy Calhoun and Claire Clements, to name a few. Currently in its 24th year of operation, Lowery Gallery is located approximately 15 miles outside of downtown Athens at 2400 Booger Hill Road in Danielsville. The exhibition will be open through Saturday, July 8.
