For the 17th consecutive summer, the Hot Corner Celebration and Soul Food Festival returns to the Hull and Washington corner downtown. A celebration of African-American community, commerce and creativity, the two-day affair features music, dance, art, food, kids’ entertainment and more. Friday’s events take place at the First AME Church, with a men’s wellness breakfast featuring an appearance from DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond, plus a gospel program that evening. Saturday’s all-day outdoor lineup includes hip-hop artists Blacknerdninja, Jet Squad, Ziggy RoxXx and Billy D.
