Martin Johnson Heade
On the heels of last week’s Museum Mix, the Friends of the Georgia Museum of Art present a second chance to celebrate the season’s exhibitions. Current offerings include paintings of landscapes and botanicals by Martin Johnson Heade, eclectic furniture designed by Giò Ponti, prints of cities by F. Townsend Morgan and works addressing social, political and cultural topics by Georgia artist Kristin Casaletto. The event includes gallery activities, door prizes and an “Ask the Experts” hour at 7 p.m. Guest curator Perri Lee Roberts will lead a special gallery talk on Ponti and “Modern Living” earlier in the day at 2 p.m.
Curator Perri Lee Roberts speaks on "Modern Living: Gio Ponti and the 20th-Century Aesthetics of Design."
