Leticia Bejuyo

Anyone who’s contemplated what to do with unwanted CDs or DVDs should take note of artist Leticia Bajuyo’s sculptural work. “Leticia Bajuyo: Event Horizon” weaves these reflective, rainbow colored plastics into a large-scale shape, while theremins add interactive sound elements. ATHICA’s installation is presented in conjunction with “Leticia Bajuyo: In-Finity” at the Smith-Williams Gallery at Piedmont College in Demorest. Both exhibitions will remain on view through Sept. 10, and the Smith-Williams Gallery will host an artist talk with Bajuyo Sept. 8. Recently a professor at Hanover College in southern Indiana, Bajuyo will begin work as a professor of sculpture at Texas A&M University this fall.
