Do Facts Still Matter?

Wednesday, Oct. 18 @ Russell Library

As a proud member of both the #FakeNewsMedia and the reality-based community, I wish it weren’t the case, but in a world where America elected an Alex Jones-loving, birtherism-spouting reality TV star president because a substantial portion of the population believed the other candidate ran a global hit squad and a child sex ring out of a pizza parlor, the easy answer is to this question is, “LOL nothing matters.” Nevertheless, some poor souls from the Georgia Debate Union have been tasked with arguing in the affirmative that “facts matter more than fake news in contemporary society.” Good luck! At the very least, this should be more enlightening than your average Facebook exchange.
