In the Shadow of the Sea

Presented by the Willson Center for Humanities and Arts as part of UGA’s Spotlight on the Arts festival, “In the Shadow of the Sea: Photographs from Cuba by Sean Dunn” offers glimpses into the neighborhoods and everyday activities of the Cuban people. Dunn, who is also a guitarist in Athens band Five Eight, seeks to “examine the beauty and absurdity of life under the Castros, and the long-running United States embargo against the Cuban people.” Outside of the exhibition at Ciné, which will remain on view through Dec. 1, an additional set of photographs pulled from the same ongoing collection are currently on display at the Willson Center through Dec. 20.
