Banned in DC
A staple on any punk’s bookshelf, Banned in DC: Photos and Anecdotes From the DC Punk Underground (79–85) captures the energy of the now-legendary mid-’80s scene through hundreds of photographs, flyers and stories of bands like Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Void, Faith, Scream and Marginal Man. Photographer and NEA grant-winning artist Cynthia Connolly will offer a presentation and book signing to commemorate its seventh edition. Back in print for the first time in a decade, the hardcore classic now includes a new afterword detailing how the book came together with collaborators Leslie Clague and Sharon Cheslow in 1988.
(Prince Ave.) Author and photographer Cynthia Connolly offers a presentation and book signing for Banned in D.C., a music photography book documenting the now legendary punk scene of Washing D.C. See Calendar Pick on p. 20.
