Unsilent Night

Friday, Dec. 22 @ Downtown Athens

A unique, collaborative community music happening, Unsilent Night began in New York in 1992 and has become an Athens winter tradition. Based on a glittering instrumental piece written by avant-garde composer Phil Kline, the event takes the form of a musical parade, during which attendees stroll through the festive streets of downtown playing one of four tracks on their boombox, smartphone or other media player. The result is a living, breathing soundscape perfectly suited for the holiday season. Download a track beforehand at unsilentnight.com, or show up to Little Kings Shuffle Club at 7 p.m. Friday to receive a cassette or CD.
