NEA Big Read at the Lunar New Year
Coinciding with the Lunar New Year, the National Endowment for the Arts’ Big Read program will celebrate the Year of the Dog with a series of events themed around To Live by Chinese author Yu Hua, as well as young-adult books by New York Times bestselling author Grace Lin. Saturday’s program includes traditional music, food and art-making, and free copies of Big Read books will be handed out. The series continues with a three-day introduction to Mandarin Feb. 21–23, a fashion show inspired by Chinese couture, a dumpling-making class, a book discussion, a theater performance of BFE and a guest appearance by Lin. Check coe.uga.edu for dates and descriptions.
